Welcome to The King’s Academy Clewiston. The Class of 2016 are preparing to leave for college. They will be attending Florida State, Southwest Florida, and Palm Beach State. We are building on the successes of last year as we look forward with optimism to the 2016-2017 school year. This year we welcome our largest student body to date with 65 students. We strive to work with our students and families to establish a strong academic and spiritual foundation for the students to build upon for their future.
In 1970, The King’s Academy had a humble beginning with 196 students in grades junior-kindergarten to eleventh grade in leased facilities at Belvedere Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, Florida. Soon thereafter, God provided a twenty-acre equestrian facility on Cherry Road which became the permanent home of The King’s Academy and there our school flourished. In 2005, God blessed us once again. We left our beloved “old” campus and moved to our current location on Belvedere Road in West Palm Beach. In 2010, The King’s Academy-Clewiston opened, serving students in grades 7-9. Today, these 65 students and 9 faculty and staff make up a close Biblically-focused community. Through this community our students are challenged with strong academics while experiencing the love of Christ.
Today, King’s serves approximately 1,400 students from age two through twelfth grade. TKA’s faculty, staff and students remain committed to serving our community and our world to win the lost for Jesus Christ. I have had the privilege to be a part of TKA since 1984 as a student, alumnus, staff, faculty, coach, and parent. In those years I have witnessed God’s direction and blessing on TKA. I am excited to see what God has in store for us in the future.
TKA’s early founders envisioned a Christian school that taught God’s word without apology and was able to academically equip students to compete and thrive at any college of university. As such, they adopted King’s mission statement:
The King’s Academy exists to assist the home and church in their endeavor to “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6). Its mission is share salvation through Jesus Christ and to graduate Christian leaders who seek to impact their world for the King of kings through academic excellence and spiritual vitality.
King’s mission has not changed in more than forty-five years of existence and is one that The King’s Academy faculty and staff seek to achieve each day. Whether in Clewiston, at one of our “TKAP” preschools, or on our West Palm Beach campus, our unique blend of rigorous academics, focused spiritual emphasis, and generous community service sets TKA apart!
